The Abandoned Church

This once once the most popular church for miles around, bustling with people and filled with the twittering of birds as they made their nests in the Church's roof. Now however the story is very different. The Church is now a derelict building and has crumbled beyond repair. Oh yes. And another thing. BEWARE! Some say that the Church is now haunted with the ghost of the town people that so curiously disappeared...

Scarlet ran into the area and stopped just out of view of the church and leant against a tree, catching her breath. A frown appeared on her face when she realised she couldn't see Jasper and she shrank down to the floor hiding between two tree roots as the wind picked up making the trees shake. GAH!, she thought as she began to think of all the bad things that could happen to her... Or couldve happened to Jasper. Biting her lip - a bad habit she had - she tapped he feet on the ground and waited for Jasper to turn up.

Jasper ran over to her, sliding under a piece of rubble and fallen tree, and crouched beside her. "You okay?" He asked, repeating what she had asked earlier. He noticed that she looked a tiny bit nervous.

Scarlet relaxed a little seeing Jasper was okay and nodded. "Yea..." She replied and trailed off looking over her shoulder to the church. There were only two reasons why Scarlet had come here... Jasper had asked her and she needed to over come her fear of ghosts. Surely a ghost from another town wouldn't come here? , she though as tiny shiver coursed through her body. "Want to go I-in?" She stammered and scrunched her toes up in announce for having stammered. She wasn't scared! Was she? Scarlet fiddled with the sleeve of her jacket and let out a Kestrel call to summon her soul companion, Joey (lol summon).

Joey flew into the area and landed on the tree root next to Scarlet. Letting out a greeting caw, he ruffled up his feathers and wriggled into a warm, tight gap between Scarlet and Jasper's bodies to steal the warmth from the two humans.

Jasper gave a nod, and a light chuckle to Joey, as he landed between them. He suppressed a shiver as he and his companion weren't together at the moment, and it gripped his soul like claws. He couldn't help but feeling that something wrong, but he shook it off and put his hands in his pockets. "Its freaky here," He muttered under his breath.

Scarlet heard what Jasper mumbled and nodded. "Too right it is!" She smiled but reached her arm to her shoulder nervously. Patting Joey on the head, Scarlet couldn't help but frown as the uneasy feeling that something bad was happening keeps over her...

Jasper hauled himself to his feet and held out a hand as an offer to help her up. "Is it just me or does something feel...Strange?" He asked, and glanced at the old building.

Scarlet took his hand and hauled herself to her feet. "It feels strange." She stated and let Joey land on her shoulder. Glancing around, she looked around the area to see if she could spot anything strange. She let out a little scream and jumped back a little as she saw a pair of eyes staring at her from the undergrowth but her face flushed red with embarrassment when she realised it was just a black bird. "Darn thing." She cursed under her breath and shuffled her feet.

Jasper smiled, trying to hide his amusement, "Want to just go? Sorry I brought you here, it was kinda messed." He sighed.

Scarlet shrugged. "I don't mind." Hearing him apologise she gave him an understanding look and said, "it's ok. No need to apologise." Flashing him a smile she jumped up and down to take her mind off the haunted building behind her. "Where now?" She asked.

Jasper shrugged. "Where ever you want to go." He replied with a smile.

Scarlet sighed and thought for a minute. "Want to just go back to the hideout?" She asked with a slight tilt to her head but not so much as to knock Joey off from her shoulder.

Jasper nodded. "Sounds like an idea!" He agreed and started towards the hideout, but looked back to make sure she was coming.

Jogging forewords to catch up with him, Scarlet let Joey flew off her shoulder and glide above their heads on the way home. She loved being outdoors, especially with Jasper , though she would probably never admit it to anyone. (Lol)

-Wanteds Hideout-

Jasper smiled and looked up at Joey, hoping that he wouldn't poop on his face (XD) he looked back to Scarlet. He loved going out on 'adventures' (xDD), especially with her, though he wouldn't say it a loud to anyone.
